LIVE SHELL PRACTICE SEAWARDS. The public is hereby warned that it is intended to carry out GUN PRACTICE with Live Shell. Seawards, from St. Clair Beach, on FRIDAY, September 11, and SATURDAY, September 12, between the hours of 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. on each day. Red Flags will be flown at Cargill’s Castle and at the Gun Position 30 minutes before commencement of the practice until the conclusion of tho practice. The Danger Area for Navigation is defined by a sector of wluch tho radii bear 110 degrees and- 210 degrees, grid, respectively, from a point on St. Clair Beach, the longititude of which is 170 degrees 30’, and extend 13,000yds (7 miles) from the same point. UNDER instructions from the Minister of Primary Production for War Purposes, a meeting, consisting of representatives of Department of Agriculture, Lime Companies, Stock and Station Agents, and Primary Production Councils, was held at Gore, and the following rationing scheme authorised and later ratified by the Minister :-*■ All orders now held by Lime Companies to be Cancelled as from September 12, 1942. No Lime will be supplied for top-dressing grass land until after January 12, 1943. _ To enable all farmers to receive supplies as near as possible with the limited labour available, it is necessary to ration supplies as follows: — For Cultivated Ground ... ... 4 ton per acre. For Sowing New Grass ... 1 ton per acre. (12cwt Burnt = 1 ton Carbonate.)_ It is necessary for all. farmers to fill in a special order form with their Lime Company or Merchant not later than SEPTEMBER 19 to enable equitable distribution to be made. All orders will be checked by the Primary Production Council to see no duplication takes place. Forms will be available upon application from Lime Companies, Mercantile Firms, and Primary Production Council. FARMERS PLEASE TREAT THIS MATTER URGENTLY.
