[By St. Clair.] „ Sires of Winning Two-year-olds. There were 81 races for two-ycar-olds run in the Dominion last season, and 22 different sires were represented by winners. The following is the record of these sires:—

It is reported that the executives of tho Racing Conference and the Trotting Conference are to discuss the position arising from the action of the Gore Racing Club in deleting the light-harness events from its spring programme. Money Bird, who is engaged in, the Dunedin Guineas next month, is moving along nicely in his preparation. Since racing as a two-year old last Christmas this Paper Money—Wingatui' gelding has developed well, and he stands out' as the most promising of his age in work at Wingatui. The death occurred this week of Mr William Marshall, at one time a well-known owner in both Otago and Southland. Many years ago he was the licensee of the Racecourse Hotel next Forbury Park, and afterwards was engaged in farming in the Western district of Southland. Two horses that he raced successfully were Barmby and Hot Air.

Royal Flight, the two-year-old by -Salmagundi from-Francolin. is built on the light side, but is well forward in condition. Tu a short sprint down the straight at Wingatui yesterday morning she showed she can muster up a lot of speed, and should b« able to hold her own when the McLean - Stakes is decided next month.
