CONCLUDING SESSIONS ROSE BOWL CONTEST Yesterday afternoon and evening the final sessions of the forty-first festival of the Dunedin- Competitions Society were held before large audiences. During the evening it was announced that Miss Clara Rouse was the winner of (he rose bowl presented by Mr P. Barling for a contest between winners of the vocal sections. The judge remarked that the standard of the singing of the women was higher than that of tho men throughout the competitions. Standage) ” expressed the committee's appreciation of the gesture made by Mr Dowling, now in London, in remembering his days with the Competitions Society. The festival will be brought to a close at His Majesty’s Theatre this evening, When an outstanding programme will be presented by first prize winners. The programme will include the most attractive items heard during the festival. It is seldom such an array of talent has been assembled at a single performance. There will also be included two of the spectacular ballets presented ■ during the festival.
