GARDENS ASSOCIATION
The first annual report of the Gardens Business Association, to be presented at the annual meeting on September 9, pays a tribute to the remarkable support that has been forthcoming from members. The report deals with the association’s sub-committee’s efforts for the All Purposes Appeal, well over £IOO being collected by it in the district. During the year the association engaged various bands for entertainment purposes, and the report stales that this innovation has proved an outstanding success. The association has worked during the year in conjunction with the Leith Amenities Society, and one of the events of the year was a social evening at the Leith Bowling Club’s pavilion, 80 members and friends being present. Referring to its weekly advertising campaign, the association records that, through the columns of the ‘ Star,’ it has proved an outstanding success. Reports from individual advertisers support this view. Reporting that the effort has been justified, the association expresses its appreciation for the assistance rendered by the ‘ Star ’ advertising department.
