DESERT LULL

German Tank Losses Return To Patrol Activity Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright (Eec. 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, September 3. The Western Desert lull of the last two days continued to-day. Correspondents say that operations have again returned to the level of patrol actions. The Afrika Corps remains essentially in the neighbourhood reached on the afternoon of August 31, north-east of El Himeimat. There has been no backward German movement. The British United Press correspondent with the Eighth Army says the Fifteenth and Twenty-first German Tank Divisions suffered heavy losses in the recent fighting, the German tank losses being at least three times ours.
