FIRST MINE SWEEPER
LAUNCHING NEXT TUESDAV LADY KEWAIL Tfl PERFORM CEREMONY The first mine sweeper to bo constructed at .Port Chalmers will be launched next Tuesday afternoon, the ceremony being carried out by Her Excellency, Lady Newall. Immediately following the launching the GovernorGeneral, Sir .Cyril Newall. will drive the first rivet in the second sweeper to bo constructed at Port Chalmers. These events will be followed by speeches. Tlie Governor-General and Lady Newall will arrive-by air on Tuesday morning, and will return to Wellington the following day. They will he accompanied by the Minister of Defence, Hon. E. Jones, and by Major C. J. Holland-Martin, A.D.C. to the Governor-General. Representing the Navy, Commander Boyle, of Christchurch, will also bo in attendance at the ceremony. Dean CTuicksliank will conduct the consecration service on the new ship. Music will be provided by the Band of the Ist Battalion, Otago Regiment, under Lieutenant L. O. Aston.
