BOWLING UMPIRES' ASSOCIATION
The annual meeting of the Bowling Umpires’ Association was well attended. The report showed that members maintained a keen interest throughout the year. The laws of the.. game were studied in sections at the monthly meetings, the brisk discussions being of great educational value and an incentive to efficient umpiring. A few clubs not represented in the membership have to rely. on the good offices of other club members to officiate at tournaments, instead of relying on their own members. The executive indicated that it would be pleased to receive representatives from all clubs at the meetings. The election of officers resulted:—President, Mr E. Backley; vice-presidents, Messrs W. 0. Clark and W. H. Saunders; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. J. S. Johnson; committee—Messrs J. Laurie. D. White, J. Melville, J. Nisbet, J. Crossan:
