BOXING
□SLITARY TOURNEY A novice and open boxing tournament was held at an Otago Base 'training Depot last. Week. The contestants were evenly matched, and the standard of boxing was high. The various bouts received an enthusiastic reception from the troops. All the boxers had been trained by Corporal Sutherland, of Invercargill. The results were as follows:—Private Corkery (Thornbury) defeated Private Morris (Owaka), Lance-corporal Devereux (Luggate) defeated Private Lowery (Oamaru), Private McKay (Dunedin) defeated Private McCullough (Oamaru), Private Mason (Balclutha) defeated Private Richmond (h-alclutha), Private Rodgers (Dunedin) defeated 'Private Dixon (Invercargill), Private Mulholland (Ranfurly) defeated Private Cooper (Core), Private Allison (Bdendale) defeated Private Buchan (Dunedin), Private Lewis (Invercargill) defeated Private Ronald (Invercargill) Private Samson (Dunedin) defeated Private Collett (Invercargill), Private French (Dunedin) defeated Private Cochrane (Oamaru), Lance - corporal Romerill (Dunedin) defeated Private Woods (Dunedin), Private Thomson (Limehills) defeated Private Collins (Maungawera), Private Moorhouse (Invercargill) defeated Private MrLeod (Mataura), Private Sparks (Kaitangata) drew with Private Currie (Dunedin L
