JOHNSTON—On August 31, 1942, at Dunedin; Alice A’ictoria Johnston, of 147 Maitland street, and loved mother of Tim and Charles (Dunedin), George and Mrs Benbow (Hawke’s Bay); in her sixty-eiglnb rear, “At rest.” —The Funeral will leave our Chapel, 78 St. Andrew street, on Thursday, September 3, at 10 a.m., for the Anderson’s Bay Cemetery—Hope and Kinaston, funeral directors.
STEWART.—On September 1, 1942, at Dunedin, Trevor -Thompson, dearly loved nephew of Mr and Mrs J. Brown, 1-l Grange street; aged 18 years. “At red.” STEAVAKT.—On September 1, at Dunedin, Trevor Thomson, youngest son of Alexander Stewart, 14 Grange street, Dunedin; in his nineteenth year. “Peace, perfect peace.” Private interment. —W. Cole and Son, funeral directors.
TALL.—On September 1, 1942, at Dun edin, Phoebe Fagg, wife of the late Ben jamin Tall; aged 86 years. “At- rest.’ Private interment. —Hugh Gourley Ltd. funeral director.

BURNS.—Staff Sergeant Arthur Leslie Burns, dearly loved youngest son of Mr and Mrs VV. G. Bums, 9 Sandringham street, St. Clair, loved husband of Jean Burns, Timaru,. and brother of Mrs F. Bell and Cecil Burns (overseas), died of wounds overseas, July 18, age 25 years. “ His duty nobly done.” i
