MYITKYINA AGAIN RAIDED
AMERICAN BOMBERS GO OVER (Rec. 8 a.m.) CHUNGKING, August 31. General Stihvell, in a communique, states: American bombers raided Myitkyina and started three large fires in the city and scored direct hits on an aerodrome and dispersal areas. They dropped anti-personnel bombs on runways and barracks. None of our planes or personnel was lost. This raid is additional to those reported at American headquarters in New Delhi, in which American and R.A.F. fighters and medium bombers blasted Myitkyina on two previous days, ruining the extensive aerodrome repairs made by the Japanese.
