CHILD DROWNED IN CREEK. The body of Marie Emmelene Roberts, aged two years and! a-half, the younger daughter of Mr and Mrs G. Roberts, Campbelltown, Glenorchy, was found on Friday in a creek near her home. She was last seen playing near the Buckleburn bridge, from which she apparently slipped and fell. She received concussion when her head struck a projecting rock on the bed of the creek, and in her insensible state she was drowned. The body was recovered about four chains downstream. The in-. quest was held at Queenstown, Mr J. W. Miller being the coroner. Hr- Ritchie Crawford, Invercargill, who examined the body, said that death was due to drowning. . BURNS TO LEGS. Percival Lewis, a lad residing at; 11 He Carle street, was admitted! to the Public Hospital yesterday evening suffering from burns to his legs, received when he was playing in the rubbish tip at St. Hilda. EYE INJURY. Injuries to the right eye were received by a boy, Arthur Sweet, residing r at 23 Shetland street, when a dart was thrown at him. He .was admitted'to the Hospital at 6.45 p.m. yesterday.
