MOSGIEL FIRE BRIGADES
The three lire brigades in Mosgiel—the Mosgiel Brigade, the F.F.S. Brigade, and the Mill Brigade—combined on Saturday for some competitions. Quite a good attendance of interested spectators watched the display. Among the visitors were representatives of the Dunedin E.F.S. and the Metropolitan Fire Brigade. Superintendent White, of Mosgiel, supervised arrangements, and Ihc competitions resulted: — Five-men Teams.—No. 2 Team (Chiles, Wishart. Scurr, Grieve, and Harris) 1, No. 5 Team (Campbell, Finnic, Irving, Davis, Hall) 2, No. 4 Team (Connor, Craigie, Thomson, Grieve, and Harris) 3* No. 1 Team (Henderson, Wishart, Irving, Lyall, Revell) 4, No. 3 Team (Stevenson, Ashby, Scurr. Chalraex-s, Ollivcr) 5. Seven-men Teams.—Fireman Hall’s Team 1. Fireman Campbell’s Team 2. Fireman Stevenson’s Team 3. The examiners were Fireman Eiach (South Dunedin), Deputy-superintendent ,T. Smeaton, and Foreman H. Smith. Superintendent Laidlaw and Deputy-superinten-dent Osborne, of the Dunedin Fire Brigade, and Divisional Superintendent Parker, of No. 4 8.F.5., were among the visitors. At a social in the evening in the Fire Brigade Hall, the shields were presented lo the winners. One of the shields Was donated by Messrs Carter, Newall, and Rouse (divisional officers of No. 4 Division, E.F.S.), and the other by the Mosgiol Fire. Brigade.
