SHARE MARKET. A bright tone was maintained on ’Change this morning, will) slight rises in the values of many issues. Buyers were again in predominance throughout. There were inquiries for practically all New Zealand Government stocks, with one seller only, who offered the 3 per cent. Liberty Loan at £IOO in response to a buyer quoting at £99. In the banking section, New South Wales were wanted at £2B ss, and National of Australasia at £ll. In insurance. National had risen to 19s 9d (buyer), with ether values unchanged. In meat preserving and loan and agency there were few changes reported. In gas, coal, and oil the market in Kaitangatas closed with a buyer offering 31s and a seller 2s away. The usual demand for woollens was maintained, with all local issues quoted at recent rates. In the miscellaneous section there was a general vising tendency, and a predominance of buyers. Booth Macdonald (prof.) were wanted at 6s 3d, and G. J. Coles at 49s 6d. Following a rcporled sale of Macduffs ford.) at 5s 9d 'this issue was still in demand at 5s 6d. McLeod Bros, had a market with a buyer at £24 5s and a seller at £25 10s. In breweries, the quotation for New Zealand was 335-355. Dominion were wanted at 27s and Dunedin at 18s. In Australian mining a buyer of Mount Lyell offered the increased" value of 25s 6d, but the seller remained firm at 27s 3d. Other values remained firm. Following a reported sale at 43s 6d, North Broken Hill were still wanted at 42s 6d.

Estates of a value of £785,991 were reported and accepted for administration by the Public Trustee during the month of July, 1942. The total value of the estates and funds under administration by the Public Trustee on March 31, was £64,685,685, and the new business for the four months ended July 51 was £2,254,249. Grants of administration made by the court in favour of the Public Trustee numbered 287 for the month. During the month 1,206 new wills appointing the Public Trustee executor were prepared on behalf of testators and lodged tor safe custody, and 424 existing wills were revised to provide for changes desired by testators.
