WAIROA MURDERS
7iME OF CRIME DETERMINED POLICE INQUIRY COVERS WIDE AREA (P.A.) WAIROA. August 27. Despite atrocious weather conditions, the police arc still carrying out inquiries regarding the deaths of Brigadier Annie and Miss Rosamond Smyth. These entail many journeys to outlying districts, and these are proving arduous owing to cold and heavy rain.' It now appears as if the time of the tragedy is gradually being determined, and Jby indications' everything in connection with the investigations is progressing satisfactorily. The full complement of officers reported earlier are still in the district. As is usual in this type of crime, the inquiries entail considerable work, and it may bo some days before anything further of an important nature will become known.
