“Look at this man’s rifle,” shouted the officer to the n.c.o. at rifle inspection. Tho sergeant looked down the barrel, swung the rifle round to the recruit, and barked: “ Take a look at that rifle, you!’’ “ Gee whizz!” muttered the recruit, peering down the barrel, “got a hole right through it!”
