RHINELAND RAID
FRANKFURT AND WIESBADEN ATTACKED (British Official Wireless.) (Rec. noon.) RUGBY, August 25. The Air Ministry states: “Last night, in' bad weather, a strong force of our bombers attacked objectives in the upper Rhineland, particularly at Frankfurt and Wiesbaden. Aircraft of the Fighter Command attacked railway objectives in the Low Countries and destroyed a number of engines. Sixteen of our bombers are missing.” Many fires were started at Frankfurt and Wiesbaden, the Air Ministry news service states. Low clouds helped the German night fighters. One squadron met 11, hut escaped without casualties. Many other fighters wore over the target above tha flak.
GERMAN RAIDER DESTROYED

(Rec. 11.15 a.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 25. There has been slight enemy activity over the south coast of England to-day. One enemy aircraft flew inland and dropped bombs at a point in the Homo 'Counties. Some damage was done, but no one was seriously injured. An enemy bomber was destroyed over the south coast early this morning.
