Pollock’s stable purchased the jumper Jocanta, a six-year-okl mare by Myosolis from Half a Brace, after the National meeting. Rosaleen Dim, who raced unsuccessfully at Riccarton this month, has finished her turf career, and will be mated with Winning Hit tills season. Mr G. Murray Aynsley has sold both Irate (Myosotis—Berate) and Stylosa (Myosotis—Orris) to patrons of J. L. Muir’s stable, and in future they will be trained at Te Rapa. The ex-Mosgiel Park jockey, R. J. Mackie, who was badly bruised when Clansman fell with him in the Lincoln Steeplechase, has been an out-patient at the Christchurch Hospital, but expects to be well enough to return to camp in a few days. Though (he Wellington Racing Club raced on only nine days last season, the lolalisator handled £813,510, fm average of £90,390 a day, which easily heads the previous peak year (1939-40), when £843,704 was handled on 11 davs, an average of £76,700. Mr W. M. Norman, owner and breeder of Will Cary (Quite .Sure —Carbinea), sent him north to Christchurch last week to be trained. Now five years old. Will Cary won three races out of six starts last season when trained and driven by E. Todd, of Wyudham. Susie, who is engaged in the hurdle race at tbe Otago Hunt meeting, is now (rained by J. R. Cochrane at Gore. Susie did not race last season, but two years ago gave promise of making a good jumper. She is by Nigger Minstrel from an Inductor mare. Evidently the Racing Conference will give favourable consideration to the transfer of racing permits this season, as it is reported that the Poverty Lay Hunt has decided to abandon its meeting set for October 26, and that the permit will bo allocated to the Taranaki Jockey Club. Though the Riverton Racing Club’s annual Easter fixture was reduced to two days last season, a profit of £3,617 was made, and the club’s farm account brought in an additional profit of £965. Mr D. M. Twenty-three receiving .windows were operating at Forbury (Park on Saturday, and the average amount handled at each was £1,513 during the afternoon. No one complained about the alacrity of selling, but there were loud complaints regarding the delay on the other side of the house, particularly when dividends had to be paid out on well-backed horses. During tlio 1939-40 season the Southlandowned Millisle won eight races, but has since become unreliable and in 18 starts since lias one third placing to his credit. He recently rejoined J.
