RUGBY FOOTBALL

CLUBS' MEMBERSHIP DIFFICULTIES

Ah tlio fortnightly meeting of Uie Otago Rugby Union’s Management Committee last night, over which Mr Ira Grant presided, the explanation of the Army senior team concerning its inability to field a side against Artillery on Saturday was accepted, and it was agreed that the match be played on a week day if that were found necessary. Later in the meeting delegates of certain clubs slated that it might bo impossible for them to place senior teams in the field for the balance of the season, and the matter was left in the hands of the Grade Committee to adjust, it being pointed out that members of any team finding itself in such a position were entitled to make application for permission to play with another team for the rest of the year.
