The above society’s forty-first annual festival will be officially opened by the mayor to-morrow evening, and the official opening will be followed by a very attractive programme comprising school choirs, children's action choruses, dancing, piano solos ami duets, vocal solos, and recitations. Very interesting programmes will also be presented during the day sessions at the Victoria Hall, His Majesty’s Theatre, and the Concert Chamber. Special attractions such as ballets, 15-minute plays, etc., will be included in the programmes and should add considerably to the variety and attractiveness of these evening programmes. The box plan is now open at Messrs Charles Bcgg and Co.’s, and season tickets and of-: fic-ial programmes are obtainable from Messrs Charles Bcgg and Co., nr at tho. secretary’s office.
