RETURNED SERVICES' CHOIR
The Dunedin Returned Services’ Choir will appear in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall on Monday, and the public is assured of a good night’s entertainment. This musical body was formed in October, 1919, just after the Great War, and during the past 22 years has given no fewer than 64- concerts, as well as taking part in worthy objects pertaining to the city’s welfare. During the past 12 months it has visited the various camps in and around Dunedin, spreading the “ cheer genu ” to the troops. The saying, “ Old soldiers never die ” is, in fact, a reality, for, although 22 years have passed over their heads, the members of the choir are still giving fine performances under their conductor, Mr L. B. Borrow. They have one ambition, that being to keep this notable musical body intact, so as when the time comes they may hand it on to their younger comrades of the present war in a sound and healthy slate. The programme for the evening. is ns follows Selected numbers by the choir, supported by such loading performers as Mrs Parata and tier Maori party in pot dance and song; Mrs Hall Masters and Mr John McFarlane in vocal duets and solos; Mrs John Hamer in a humorous recitation; and Miss Nancy Finder in violin solos. Miss Baker is the choir pianist. Members of the 2nd N.Z.E.P. and men on leave are invited to attend the concert as guests of the choir.
