ACCIDENTS AND DEATHS
FALL FROM SCAFFOLDING. Fred'Harrison was admitted to lios. pital this morning suffering from head injuries, sustained when he fell from a scaffolding at the George Street School, He is employed by the Education Board, and lives at 111 Valley road, CavershamSTRUCK BY TRAIN. Derek Christopher Barker, aged 19, of Windemere road. Papanui, Christchurch, was killed instantly when fia was struck by a train at Papanui morning. The accident happened when" Barker was apparently about to cros« the train line while' on his way to work. The street does not cross tho railway line at this point, but there i« a track which is occasionally used.—* Press Association.
