ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE MEETS Mr E. W. Breen presided at th» meeting of the executive of the Automobile Association (Otago) held last night. Messrs G. T. Thorn, H. L. Sprosen, J. Y. Love, W. L. Coxhead, C. W. Sundstrum, W. H. Mirams, W. H. Jenkins, R. A. Douglas, A. E. Bingham, T. Y. Turner, H. L. Gibson, G. T. Anderson, W. J. MMnnes, H. S. Reid, J. L. Passmore, A. E. Ansell, G. W. Ferens, and H. A. Campbell also attended. A letter was received from the secretary of the Otago Provincial Board for Reclamation of Waste Material asking for the assistance of the association in the matter of collecting the material on November 9.—lt was decided to render whatever assistance was possible. It was resolved that the City Council be asked to mark a pedestrian crossing at Forbury Corner, also to erect a check-rail at the entrance to the right-of-way at that corner to prevent children converging on to the road. It was decided to provide a novel exhibit for the Queen Carnival procession on Friday night, also that the matter of holding a hill-climbing competition for patriotic purposes bo referred to the Sports Committee. New members to the number of ISO were elected, and .125 resignations noted. This broughtfflhe total membership to date to 6,129. A vacancy in the list of vice-presi-dents for the current year was filled by the unanimous appointment of Mr H. S. Reid, whose place on the executive was filled by the appointment- of Mr G. Souness.
