All players are requested to start their matches punctually—the player in each team must be on the court ready to commence his or her match at 1 .o’clock, the second players at 1.30, and the remainder of the - teams at 2. Captains of winning teams are responsible to the association for results of games, by handing same to the Press not later than 8 p.m. the following day.
M’Millan Cup. There will be no interclub matches on November 9. This date is set aside for the annual M’Millan Cup Yankee tournament, at Logan Park. Mixed pairs will be graded into three sections, on the handicap system. Particular interest will be taken in this event, due to the fact that the donor of the prizes is .Mr A. M’Millan, this years president of the O.L.T.A. All tennis players are asked for their full support, and entries should be handed to their own club secretaries, or to Mr E. S. Wilson. Hints for Beginners. At all times of play keep your eye on the ball, even right up to the moment of impact on your racket. Have your test in the right position for each stroke. The forehand stroke is made with the left foot forward, and with the left shoulder facing the net. Reverse this procedure for the hack-hand stroke. Postponements. If an iiiterclub match is postponed on account of rain or darkness coming on. or for any similar reason, and is continued the following week, the match shall be resumed from the point where it was discontinued previously.
