SAME TRENDS EVIDENT MARKET GENERALLY FIRM There was very little change in the position of shares on the market to-day. The same trends wore evident as have been shown for a considerable period, and there was hardly any variation, even fractionally, on recent quotations. OVERSEAS SHARES FINANCING ACQUISITION OF RIGHTS [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 7. The Stock Exchange Association of New Zealand has to-day been officially advised by the Reserve Bank that to the extent that New Zealand holders of shares domiciled outside New Zealand desire to take up rights which they may have in respect of further issues of overseas shares by companies in which they are already shareholders, such holders will bo permitted t» dispose of their shares in the same company or in any other company of the same domicile to provide the amount required for that purpose. MINING NEWS BIG RIVER REPORT. The following is Big River Gold Mines Ltd. report for September;—Thirtyseven tons of stone were produced from No. 5 winze slope. Going south the face ot stone has increased in width, being now 6ft wide. Prospecting was carried on in No. 1, No. 4, and No. 6 levels, without anything of value beiug disclosed as yet. No. 7 level was advanced 48ft for the month, making a total driven of 135 ft, leaving 50ft to go to reach the ore channel.
