STERNER MEASURES PROPOSED
BRITISH NAVAL ACTIVITY INTEREST FOCUSED IN MEDITERRANEAN LONDON, October 7. (Received October 8, at 9.30 a.m.) There is an impression in informed circles that the Royal Navy will adopt sterner measures against Germany and Italy because of their “ sink at sight ” policy. The Admiralty is reported to be watching the Mediterranean position most carefully with a view to dealing forcefully with every development. It is considered that action there is more imminent than elsewhere.
