COSTS AND PRICES COMMITTEE IMPORTANT EVIDENCE TAKEN [Pea United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 7. A conference called several weeks ago by tho Government for the purpose of considering economic questions associated -vvitli_ New Zealand’s war effort with a view to increasing production and stabilising prices and costs will reassemble next week. After a general discussion on the situation, when the conference opened it was decided to refer a number of questions to a representative committee for the purpose of taking evidence if deemed necessary. This committee, it is reported, has been meeting continuously and has taken a great deal of important evidence from representative persons. It is understood that tho report is notv in the course of preparation, and that it will be presented to the main conference next week.
