THE SIDEY GUP The annual contest for the Sidey Cup between the Caversham and Civil Service Harrier Clubs was held at the University Oval on Saturday afternoon. The pro-, gramme of 13 events included six races, three jumps, and four throwing competitions, and no man was allowed to compete more than once. The best performances in the field events were P. Thompson’s 4ilft 4in in the hop, step, and jump, L. K. White’s 19ft 4in m the broad jump, and the 121 ft 9|in recorded by 6. Byers in the javelin throw. The Civil" Service colts spreadeagled the opposition in the relay. Early in the afternoon Civil Service secured a lead in points, and the team was 2 points in front with half the programme completed. The teams had drawn level with two events to go, and Caversham secured the major points in these to win by 67 points to 59. Results : 100 Yards: R. Weir (Cav.) 1, H. Nelson (C.S.) 2, A.
