Mr O. L. Fcrens, secretary of the Dunedin Returned Soldiers’ Association, returned from the north on Saturday after attending a mounted rifle* officers’ course. A cable message from London state* that Trinity, the famous Cambridge University College, will have an illustrious historian and a man of? letter* as its new master in Professor N. M. Trovlyan, who has been regius professor of modern history at Cambridg* since 1927. The appointment is in succession to the late Sir J. J. Thomson. Guests at the Grand Hotel . -e Mr and Mrs W.
