MU E. T. CRUTCHLEY Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 6. (Received October 7, at 12.5 p.m.) The death has occurred of Mr E. T. Crutchley, Public Relations Officer to the Post Office. Mr Crutchley suffered a heart attack while returning from a conference at the Ministry of Information.

MR JAMES SCOBIE
MELBOURNE, October 7. (Received October 7, at 1.15 p.m.) The death is announced of Mr James Scobie, veteran horse-trainer, aged 80*. His record of training " winners for seven Victorian Derbies, four A.J.O. Derbies, and. four Melbourne Cups is unequalled.
