JAPAN S SUSPICIOUS ACTIONS PLANNING TO MOVE WHEN AXIS STRIKES LONDON, October 4. (Received October 5, at 1.40 p.m.) ‘ The Times,’ in announcing that Or Quotaichi (Chinese Ambassador) visited Mr Churchill and discussed the Burma road, says Japan’s attitude does not justify extension of the Burma road agreement as Japan has thrown in her lot with Britain’s enemies, it is believed in some Far Eastern circles that Japan’s operations in Indo-China cover a plan to make a demonstration towards Singapore, possibly through Thailand when the Axis strikes in the Mediterranean.
