FREE KINDERGARTEN ASSOCIATION
The monthly meeting of the council 1 of the above association was held on Thursday afternoon, Mrs R. A. Ewing presiding. The principal (Miss A. J. Duthie) reported that the attendance at all the kindergartens had been affected last month by sickness among the children. The directors appreciated greatly the visits paid by the. school nurses, who were following up the recent medical inspection and watching the progress made by the children who needed care.
It was reported that the recent jumble sale had been most successful, £32 being added to the general funds. The R. S. Reynolds Local Committee reported that the proceeds of its concert tea amounted to £6 6s 6d.
Arrangements are well in hand for the kindergarten mothers' handwork display, to bo held in the Kclsey-Taralla Kindergarten on October 23, when the competition for \ the Dutton Rose Bowl will be decided. Th» competition creates a great deal of friendly k rivalry between the members of the different mothers’ clubs. The display is a mosM attractive one, and all interested are invited to attend. There will be a small charge for admission, which will includo •afternoon tea.
