GAELIC SOCIETY

The Gaelic Society of New Zealand held its monthly meeting last night. Past Chief A M'Lennan occupied the chair and was supported by Chieftains W. H. M'Leod, T. Stuart, A. MTvor, and I>. MTnnes. Reference was made to the death of three members—Messrs Donald Matheson, Donald MTnnes, and Alexander M’Pherson—and us a tribute to their memory Piper Stuart Waldio played a lament, the audience standing in silence. An entertaining programme was presented, the accompaniments being played by Miss George, while Piper Stuart Waldio supplied the music for the reel party.
