TRAM CONCESSIONS
SALE OF TICKETS The question of the sale of concession tickets on the hill and bus services has been further considered by the Transport Committee of the City Council in view of the difficulty that will be experienced by conductors in selling those tickets during some of tho hours originally agreed upon. On the Mornington line particularly the conductor on some trips is required to collect 130 fares in sevep minutes and under these circumstances would be unable to sell concession tickets without loss of revenue. The committee has decided, therefore, that on tho hill services concession tickets be sold at all hours with the following exceptions:—Week days; 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., 10 p.m. to 11.20 p.m., with tho addition of 9 p.m. to 9.40 p.m. on Fridays.
On the Maryhill extension line no concession tickets will bo sold in view of the fact that the gripman on this lino also acts as conductor, and it is not considered advisable to further add to his duties. Owing to the additional concession tickets provided on these lines, for example. five on Mornington and four on Roslyn, as compared with throe on tho city lines, the committee has also decided to limit tho number of_ tickets available to three on cadi service.
