ANOTHER INVISIBLE MAN
Nominated for the neatest trick of the year: Universal Studio’s feat in making Vincent Price, who stands Cft 4in, disappear for his latest screen appearance. The role is in ‘ The Invisible Man Returns,’ with Price playing the title role. It is no secret that the drama is one which employs camera trickery to its utmost. However, the methods by which John Fulton, special effects expert, and his staff actually make the Invisible Man invisible remain a secret to the public and, in fact, to Hollywood itself.
A part of the trickery is removal of Price from the film after shooting of scenes, and in this process the actor’s tall, 1801 b frame literally provided more work for Fulton’s staff. They had loss detailed labour when they “ worked over ” Clande Rains, who played ‘ The Invisible Man ’ in 1933 and who measures by comparison only sft lOin and weighs 1651 b.
Tire new film tells of a man who escapes from a death cell after being made invisible.
The story was suggested by ‘ The Invisible Man,’ written by H. G. Wells. Joe May directed, with Sir Cedric Hardwickc, Nan Grey, .lobn Sutton, Alan Napier, and Cecil Kellaway in loading roles. Ken. Goldsmith was associate producer.
