WOMEN'S WAR SERVICE AUXILIARY
A meeting of the above was held in th* committee rooms, New Zealand Express Company buildings, on Monday, Mrs Macki* Begg being in the chair. The Publicity Committee submitted a letter and questionnaire sterbe sent to all women’s societies. This was approved, and will be sent out when registration cards come to hand. Mrs Begg reported that the following had offered their services for clerical work: —Mesdames Stewart, Campbell, Mason, Lawrence, Misses Macauley and Young. It was decided to ask/ Miss E. Young to accept the position of secretary in charge, and that the services of other volunteers b». accepted as assistants when required. A sub-committee was set up to go into the question of assistance required oa farms and the training of girls toward* this end. The following were appointed: — Professor Strong, Mrs Drake, Mrs Tannock. A sub-committee to deal with transport questions and the training of women for this work (Mrs R. S. Black and Mrs Herbert to be in charge) was also appointed.
