APPOINTMENTS AND PROMOTIONS [Pei: United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, October 3. Several appointments and promotions in the traffic branch of the New Zealand Railways have been announced. Mr C. D. M'Kcnzie, goods agent at Dunedin, has been appointed assistant traffic manager, Dunedin. He will replace, Mr F. G. Clark, former assistant traffic manager, Dunedin, who has been appointed stationmaster at Christchurch. Mr Clark will succeed Mr O. A. Legg, who has retired on superannuation . Mr G. C. Carnie, stationmaster at Wanganui, has been appointed goods agent at Dunedin, and Mr N. S. Dew. business agent at Dunedin, will succeed Mr Carnie as stationmaster at Wanganui. Mr J. A. Jones, chief parcels clerk at Auckland, has been appointed to the position of assistant stationmaster at Aucldand. Mr W. Mount, inward goods clerk in Wellington, has been appointed chief parcels clerks at Auckland. Mr E. T. G. Osborne, stationmaster-in-charge at Westport, has been appointed stationmaster at New Plymouth. He will succeed Major A. H. W. Avenden, who has been granted leave of absenec from the department to take up military duties. Mr R. Marshall, stationmastor-in-charge at Picton, ’ will. succeed Mr Osborne as stationmaster-in-charge at Westport. Mr J. D. C. Davis, stationmaster at Taihape, retired on superannuation at the beginning of this week, and is being succeeded by Mr P. W. Knights, chief clerk at Taumarunui. Mr R. J. Rae, stationmaster at Featherston, will go to Taumarunui as chief clerk, and will be succeeded at Featherston by Mr H. Crawford, shift clerk at To Kuiti. Mr H. A. Pope, stationmaster at Putaruru, has been appointed station-master-in-chargo at Picton, and Mr C. S. Reynolds, stationmaster at Otorohanga, lias boon appointed stationmaster at’Putaruru. _ Mr M. Coutts. senior dork at Picton, has boon appointed stationmaster at. Milton. Mr J. Curran, stationmaster at Palmerston (South Island), has been transferred to Bluff as stationmaster, and Mr S. E. Smith, stationmaster at Mataura, will replace Mr Curran as stationmaster at Palmerston. Mr H. J. Davis, clerk in the districttraffic manager’s office, Invercargill, has been appointed stationmaster at Mataura.
