TROTTING
FORBURY PARK CLUB The principal business at the monthly meeting of the committee of the Forbury Park Trotting Club last evening was fixing the stakes for next month’s meeting. The president (Mr B. S. Irwin) reminded members that it had been decided to devote the profits for the season to patriotic funds. Last year £3,550 had been given in stakes, and the profit was £349. After discussion, during which it was stated that while the ■committee desired that the profit should be as largo as possible, it would be in the interest of the sport to keep the stakes up, and it was finally agreed to give £3,750. During the leave of absence granted to the club’s judge, Mr F. A. Jarrett, while on service in the New Zealand Forces, Mr A. O. Well wood was appointed judge for the spring meeting. Messrs Irwin, Black, Fogg, Hadfield, and Halliday were appointed the Judicial'Committee for the meeting, and it was decided to start the first race cadi day at 12.30. The President welcomed Mr Blackie, a new member of the committee, to the meeting.
