CHILDREN’S REST HOME APPEAL.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The Christmas season is with u* once again. What does it mean? Just this, that everyone thinks how much ho can give to make somebody else happy. There is no better object people can help than this much-needed and appreciated work of providing a temporary home for children of sick mothers in poor circumstances, of *HI denominations. We provided for 273 such children last year. Every Christmas w« give one day’s outing at Tahuna Park t# all the children (with their patent) wno have been under our care during the year. The Otago Hospital Board has taken our home in Uoslyn under the War Regulation* Act for the duration of the war for % returned soldiers' hospital; it took posses* sion on July 1. It has not taken over tha work—that goes on just the same as before, only we are boarding all the children out with private people, which is proving satisfactory. We pay 15s per week for each child we board out. Our needs ara money, donations, children’s clothing, toys, and suitable gifts for a picnic Donations may be left at the office, 114 Moray Place (next Public bibrary), «r a collector will call.—We are etc., V.
