ASSOCIATION'S MONTHLY MEETING Tlio monthly meeting of the General Committee of the above association was held recently, the convenor (Mr T. Somerville) presiding. Kilgour Wing.—A letter was received from the architects enclosing the tenders received for this project.—lt was agreed that the tender of Messrs R. Mitchell and Sons Ltd. be accepted. it was decided that the annual meeting of the association bo held on Monday, October 21. The suggested rules and regulations will ho presented to the meeting for adoption. A short film depicting portions of the work of the association will bo shown, and a general invitation is extended to all interested. ‘ Mr R. L, Kairmaid reported that during the month the children at the Glendin ing Humes had enjoyed good health, there being no eases of .sickness of a serious nature li report. Wilh ideal weather conditions the child ren had thoroughly enjoyed their ierm holidays, and had now settled down to the work of the la-fc term of the year. One child was admitted during the month. The number of children under care was as followsXisbel. Cottage—ll girls, 8 buy.-: Cameron Cottage—9 girls, 9 boys; Somerville Cottage—l 3 girls, 5 hoys; Glendining Home—l 6 school boys, 6 working hoys—a. total o,f 77 children. Spring work was being carried out on the farm and in the garden. The stock was in good condition ami there was ample supplies of milk. South Dunedin Extension Work.—Sister Olive reported that since the last mooting new homes had been added to those visited and new problems had been talked over with the women concerned. The women’s circle meets fort nightly. and its meeting' are friendly and enjoyed by those who attend. Re'S Home.—The Rev. N. E. Oakh-.v repurled that the matron's report for the month .-bowed that there were 20 men and 37 women in residence, of which live men ami six women were in the hospital wards. Gifls of clothing and jam had been received, while on one occasion afternoon tea had been provided by I lie North-cast Valley mothers’ choir, During the month entertainments had been provided by the Knox Church choir. The North-east \ allcv mid her-’ choir and Miss Clifford's pupilhad also given entertainments. Several applications for admission to the home were considered by (lie committee. Mr--I’. W. Curtis, who donated an organ for the home, had been’' warmly thanked for her gift.
