GOOD TEMPLARY
The weekly meeting of the Rescue Lodge, No. 105, was held on Tuesday evening in the Methodist Sunday School, Wesley street, when the Chief Templar (Sister Mrs M’Donald) presided over a good attendance. Correspondence was received from the New Zealand Alliance, also a copy of annual report and petition forms for signatures. Reports submitted showed that the work in the juvenile department was still progressing, and that the Absent Members Committee had been doing good work. Reference was made to the astonishing increase m last year’s Dominion liquor bill, also to the increases in convictions of intoxicated motor drivers and accidents caused by intoxicated motorists. There was also a good attendance at the meeting of the Star of the South Juvenile Temple, held the same evening. Parents had been invited to the meeting, and members supplied a varied programme consisting of solos, recitations, pianoforte selections, company songs, and harmonica tions.
