CAR CONVERSION
YOUNG SOLDIER SENT TO GAOL SECOND OFFENCE IK WEEK [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 30. Three months, with hard labour, wai the penalty imposed by Mr Stout, S.M.. on a soldier, Robert Harold Russell (19) for unlawful conversion of a car. The police stilted that the accused missed the last train to Trentham-ou Saturday night, and took the car from the Hotel Waterloo. The owner of tha car claimed that three gallons of petrol had been used and the car travelled at least 120 miles. The car was damaged to the extent of approximately £25 Mr Stout said the accused, who was before the court in Christchurch n week ago for a similar offence, had had a warning.
