(Received September 30, at 8 a.m.) The heavy showers which fell in the reservoir catchment area yesterday and to-day are likely to afford some relief to the metropolitan water shortage. The Water Board chairman, however, warns householders and business interests that additional restrictions _ are being imposed next week prohibiting tho automatic flushing of sanitary and similar conveniences. Last week-end s rain was of no appreciable value to the city’s reservoirs. Violent squalls accompanied to-day’s rain, the wind velocity reaching 65 miles. The wind -unroofed a building at Mascot aerodrome, blew down a high wall in Auburn suburb, ami caused extensive and minor damage in oilier suburbs.
