CARS COLLIDE

MATRON OF HEALTH CAMP KILLED UNUSUAL DOUBLE ACCIDENT [Peb United Press Association.! PALMERSTON N., September 30. An unusual double acciden.t in which a car collided with another vehicle that previously had been involved in a collision occurred on the main highway two miles north of Waikanac last evening. Several people, including bystanders at the first accident, were injured. Miss Gould, matron at the Otaki children’s health camp, received injuries from which sho died in the Palmerston North Hospital. The others injured were Messrs Neate and W. H. Wills (formerly principal of the Otaki Maori College). Both wore admitted to the hospital. The first accident occurred at about. 6.45' p.ni., when Dr F. Neate’s car, which was travelling north, struck a stationary vehicle. Dr Neate was slightly injured. He had several passengers in his car, one of them being Mr Wills., Two others in the doctor’s car were also slightly injured. While the first accident was being attended to another car, driven by Mr William A. Paris, of Palmerston North, which was also travelling north, struck Mr Neate’s car. Miss Gould, who was standing on the road at the time, had driven Dr Neate’s father to the scene of tho original smash. Mr Neate was also standing on tho road when the second accident occurred.
