ST. KILDA CHAMPION BAND

This popular musical combination will initiate another season of open-air concerts to-morrow afternoon, when it will he heard in a specially-selected programme from the Botanic Gardens Rotunda. Since annexing the Centennial championship and quickstep contest at Wellington in February last the hand has been called on to assist in many patriotic objects. With those various engagements the band has been necessarity required to maintain its high standard of musical efficiency, and a bright afternoon’s entertainment is assured under the guidance of Air W. L. Francis. The programme will include solos by bandsmen who were winners in their respective sections at the recent contest, while the entire combination will be heard in stirring and well-known selections, marches, and the latest patriotic numbers. An added attraction is the splendid array of spring flowers which at present adorn the numerous well-appointed beds at the Gardens. Collectors will he stationed at the various entrances.
