'QUIET WEDDING '
Another large audience at His Majesty’s Theatre hugely enjoyed Esther M'Cracken’fi modern comedy, ‘Quiet Wedding.’ This play might well be termed a “ comedy of nerves,” for most of the characters are, at one time or another “ on edge.” And no wonder, for the course of true love docs not run smooth for quite a while, yet the misadventures and misunderstandings are turned to humorous account, with a leavening of real romance which strengthens the structure and makes it increasingly acceptable. Miss Dora MTherson, as the fluttering Mrs Boyd, repeated her successful portrayal of a, part which bulks large, hut Mrs Katrena Speight, Miss Mary Jolly, Mr Roland Watson, and others of the largo, cast were equally satisfactory. 1 Quiet Wedding ’ is excellent entertainment, and those who hare not yet seen it played by the Dunedin Repertory Society should .not miss the final opportunity of doing so; this will bo presented fn-night.
