To the memory of Hobson Jndkin, Estp, Late of Clifford’s Inn. THE HONEST SOLICITOR, Who departed this life June the 30th,
1812,
This tablet was erected by ins Clients as a token of Gratitude and Respect for his honest, faithful, and friendly conduct to them thr’ Life. Go, reader, and imitate Hobson Jndkin.
On the tombstone of a Mr Talbot, who was buried in St. Pancras’s Cemetery. London, there is the following inscription : Here lies—believe it if you can— Who. though a lawyer, was an honest
man. To him the gates of heaven shall open
wide, And cpiickly close 'gainst all the
tribe beside. A similar sentiment is expressed in the following epitaph :—• Here lies John and Thomas JJonn, Lawyers both, but honest men. God works wonder now and then.
