TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — I wish to congratulate the Green island Professional Cycling Club on its splendid performances throughout the season. The concert it conducted in aid of patriotic funds was a groat .success, and the amount of money collected would have done much credit to any sports body i congratulate the members, committee, handicapper, and president on the way the 00-mile South Island championship was held on Saturday last. The handicapping was weli done, as one could see when the first six riders came in with only about IdOyds between each: while the rest of the" riders came ‘in at short intervals. The present committee will sure put Green Island on the map if it holds a 5l)-mile New Zealand championship nr’:': season.--I am. etc.. - Ex-Amateur. September 'do
