ROSLYN-KAIKORAI RATEPAYERS

ASSOCIATION'S ANNUAL MEETING Numerous improvements in the amenities of the district were reported at the annual meeting last night of the Roslyn and Kaikorai Ratepayers’ Association. The 'president (Mr P. L. Ritchie) was in the chair. (Road-making and widening been carried out on the road from Wakari to the Taieri aerodrome, said the Chairman in outlining the activities of the association during the past year. Taieri road, towards Wakari, he said, had been widened and extensive alterations had been made at the four-street junction at thu power station, botli by the widening and in the lay-out, and that point would'not require any more expense for many years to come. The widening of Fraser’s Gully road at the baths had been carried out, and the clearing and drainage of the children’s playing area there had been completed. The upper reaches on the hillside had been put into order by the City Council for the benefit of visitors to that charming scenic reserve. Live hedges on roadways were in better order since the association took an interest in that matter, and roadways and footpaths had been improved. The association appreciated the support of the City Council and its officers in connection with various requests. When it became known that the association contemplated presenting two seats to the City Council for Fraser’s Gully reserve, a local resident made a donation towards their cost. That gift proved very acceptable, and it was hoped it would actuate others who desired to see the district improved. Air A. Ellis expressed pleasure at the good progress, and be hoped the public would appreciate the value of the association. The annual report was adopted, together with the balance sheet, which showed a substantial credit. Tire following officers were elected: — President, Air P. L. Ritchie; executive —Afessrs A.
