BRITAIN'S STRENGTH INCREASING A CHINESE VIEW CHUNGKING, September 25. (Received September 26, at 11.50 a.m.) The recent Axis conference in Rome revealed tbo increasing strength of Britain, and also indicated the spreading of the European war. According to the influential Chinese daily, ‘Takungpao,’ “Germany is suffering a setback in the war on Britain, and therefore is anxious to extend the area of the Avar and also strengthen the Axis. On the other hand, as a result of closer Anglo-Ame-rican co-operation, the strength of Britain is daily increasing.”
