TENNIS OPENING

OTAGO CLUB On Saturday afternoon, under perfect weather conditions, a large gathering of tennis enthusiasts was present at the Otago courts, when Mr E. G. Boddy (vice-president), in the absence of the president (Mr H. S. Adams) declared the season open for play. Sir James Allen, a life member of the club, in a short speech, wished all the players a successful year. The pavilion was gaily decorated with flowers and bunting, and here afternoon tea, at which members were the guests of the president, wms served.
